Large scale pilots

Large scale pilots are projects among several member states of the European Union with the aim of implementing pilot solutions, mainly interoperable systems, across borders. Currently these projects are active:

  • epSOS to develop a practical eHealth framework and Information & Communication Technology infrastructure.
  • PEPPOL to set up a pan-European pilot solution that, conjointly with existing national solutions, facilitates EU-wide interoperable public eProcurement.
  • SPOCS to remove the administrative barriers that European businesses face before offering their services abroad.
  • STORK to implement an EU wide interoperable system for recognition of eID and authentication that will enable businesses, citizens and government employees to use their national electronic identities in any Member State.
